Smoothies
For the past few months I have been drinking smoothies for breakfast. During the summer there are lots of great fruits to mix and match with to create your favorite breakfast. Unfortunately there are less fruits this season but don’t worry! There are still many options to choose from. Just blend all the ingredients in a kitchen-machine or hand-mixer. I’d love to give you some inspiration for an healthier way to start your day off with a delicious smoothie! 🙂

‘Green smoothie’
– Spinach
– A frozen banana
– Almond Milk

‘Berrie smoothie’
– Blueberries
– A banana
– Frozen strawberries

‘Simplicity smoothie’
– A banana
– Frozen strawberries

Tips
1. Add some oatmeal to your smoothie to make it more filling and nutritious.
2. Add some seeds, like chiaseeds or linseeds, to make it more filling. It also gives your breakfast some extra protein.
3. If you’d like your smoothie to be sweeter, add some stevia, honey or cinnamon.
4. You can buy lots of fruits frozen (every season).
5. Peel your banana and put it in the freezer before you go to bed. Next morning you will have an frozen banana, perfect for a smoothie!

Oatmeal

This upcoming superfood is getting more and more popular every day. It’s tasty, easy and super healthy. There are so many reasons to convert oatmeal regularly on your menu. First of all it lowers your cholesterol, it is naturally gluten-free, oatmeal is a really good addition to your diet and contains antioxidants. At last it’s very easy and quick, which is very useful if you’re running late. You have to heat some milk/almondmilk/water in a pan (or microwave, but you’ll have to stir) and add your oats while stirring. When it has the substance you prefer, poor it into a bowl and add whatever you like. This is my favorite way of preparing, but there are many other ways. I’m sharing my favorite suggestions to serve oatmeal!

‘Sweet as honey’
– Oats
– Almond Milk
– A sliced banana
– Honey

‘Just like apple pie’
– Oats
– Almond milk
– A sliced apple
– Cinnamon
– Stevia

‘Fresh morning’
– Oats
– Apricots
– Squeezed lemon
– dried cranberries

Pancakes
For this amazing recipe all the credits go to Cassey from Blogilates. For the whole recipe and more click here. Basicly it’s just eggs mixed up with a banana. I will just quote Cassey because she described it in an hilarious way:

”This is the easiest pancake recipe you will ever find in your LIFE!!!!! And it’s 100% made out of natural ingredients. No protein powder, no flour, no sugars…not even almond milk! It’s just 2 ingredients!

Check this ingredient list:

– 1 ripe banana

– 2 whole eggs

Bam!!! That’s it. Just blend. If you’re mixing in a bowl, make sure the banana is all mashed. Then spray your pan with some PAM, EVO), or coconut oil on low to medium heat, scoop some of the batter on there, give it about 20-30 sec, flip, and done! Serve and eat!”

For toppings you can choose whatever you like! I’d like to top it off with apple and cinnamon, fruits or a small amount or melted dark chocolate.

Omelets
On the days I don’t feel like having a sweet breakfast, I usually bake an omelet. In cuisine, an omelette or omelet is a dish made from beaten eggs quickly cooked with butter or oil in a frying pan, sometimes folded around a filling such as cheese, vegetables, meat (often ham), or some combination of the above. For today i’m sharing some healthy variations that I like the most. Add as much as you like from the listed ingredients.

‘Spinach omelet’
– 2/3 eggs
– spinach
– Fresh herbs and/or seasoning

‘Greek omelet’
– 2/3 eggs
– Feta cheese
– Tomatoes
– Red Unions
– Lettuce of choice (I prefer rocket salad)
– Fresh herbs and/or seasoning

In the Netherlands, a ‘boerenomelet’ (“farmer’s omelette”) is a popular dish, usually consisting of 2 to 3 eggs, a mixture of sautéed onions, mushrooms, potatoes, bell peppers, leeks, garden peas, salt and pepper (for seasoning). The dish has many variations. I am definitely a fan!

I hope you’ve enjoyed these few easy, quick and (most important) healthy recipes! Share your dish on Instagram with the hashtag #passionreporter. I’d love to see all of your creations!

lots of love,

Mila
